Aunt Doris was a master conservationist. She always had shelves of canned goods. She was an expert at this and canned almost anything and everything. I never knew you could make watermelon rind jelly. :) To listen to her stories of nursing and travel was always entertaining. She was blessed with many unique experiences. I believe she truly shined in the area of sewing. Her quilting was exquisite. She could make scraps of fabric into beautiful quilts that she gave away. She made many children's clothing items that she also gave away. Aunt Doris reminds me of her watermelon rind jelly - tough on the outside but sometimes sweet on the inside. Rest in peace Aunt Doris. Say hi to Mom and Jesus for me.
